I understand the 12' triangle shade is 12' along each side. I assume this is the un-stretched dimension. How much will the fabric stretch?
By Dawn H. - eCanopy Product Specialist on August 19, 2014
Answer:The manufacturer does not give a specific measurement as to how much the fabric will stretch out. The ideal installation would have you only stretching it to the point the material is tight enough to not sag. Overstretching can lead to reduction in the life expectancy of the shade said fabric.

How translucent or opaque is the shade sail? I live in the high desert and need shade.
By Justin R. - eCanopy Product Specialist on May 27, 2016
Answer:This shade sail is made of a tight mesh weave of nylon fabrics. While it is not translucent, it does not provide complete concealment as it is mesh. The mesh is intended to allow winds to pass through the fabric without causing wind damage.

How is this shade in windy weather? It looks perfect but I'm in a windy area. I plan to install it so it is easy taken down but sometimes the wind comes up without warning.
By Will M. - eCanopy Product Specialist on May 25, 2016
Answer:With proper anchoring, the Coolaroo shade sails will withstand wind gusts quite well.

Does the shade sail set up free standing? If so, are there poles with the installation kit?
By Darnarius on June 26, 2017
Answer:This sail is to be attached to existing structures (trees, your home) or you can purchase poles elsewhere if needed. The installation kit option only includes package of 8 mm 316 stainless steel pad eyes, turnbuckles, and snap hooks.

In order to mount this 12 ft. sail, we would have to drill into a tree and use rope to extend out in order to install it. The other two ends would be mounted to our house. Is this a possible way to install it?
By Kendra on July 11, 2017
Answer:This sail is either to be attached to a tree, house, or balcony structure using the installation kit.
