Need a lot of shade without a lot of work? Put this 18' Coolhaven triangle shade sail from Coolaroo to the test for some shade with style. There's no mistaking the distinctive curved sides of Coolaroo's shade sails, and with their high-tenacity polyester build, you know they're durable, too. So durable, in fact, that their recommended cleaning regimen consists of "point your garden hose at it and go to town." These sails have happily earned their place in Coolaroo's Premium Range line, with all of the quality and durability that comes with the title. The fabric itself features Coolaroo's industry-leading mold prevention technology and the corners feature stainless steel deltas that mean those grommets aren't going anywhere (and make the fabric that much stronger). Be sure to grab the optional installation kit, and you'll be set with everything you need to kick back all summer in a shady spot of your own making.

Will these Coolaroo Coolhaven 18 foot triangle shade sails allow rainfall to fall through the shade to avoid puddling in the center of the shade?
By Emily - eCanopy Product Specialist on August 10, 2015

    Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. The Coolaroo fabric is all permeable and are a knitted fabric to allow air and light to come through which also includes water so the water will not pool.
By Jerilyn from Martin, GA on August 10, 2015

    Answer:
They will let the rain fall through. It does however make them a little bit heavier so they sag a little bit. Not by much though. We just finished a good rain shower. I have intense Sun so the shade tarp works really well. But enough water still runs through to water the plants. I have had one sunshade for 4 years and now I just got this one. I love them have not had any problems. I do however take them down in the winter time.
By Sabrina from San Marcos, CA on August 10, 2015

    Answer:
We don't get much rain in California. We do have ours hanging at a bit of an angle so it should run off if it does. We did have some rain and stayed relatively dry standing under them. Sorry for the vague answer but we do love them!
By Michele from Minnesota on August 11, 2015

    Answer:
Yes the rain goes through them. They have been great so far.

On the Coolhaven 18' what are the other two dimensions?
By April L. - eCanopy Product Specialist on March 21, 2016

    Answer:
It is 18 feet on each side.
By Jerilyn from Lake Hartwell Georgia on March 21, 2016

    Answer:
18' how you control where you put it is two ends have turnbuckles and the other has just a buckle where you can put a cable on to alter where you put it. I love mine so much that after 4-5 years (still looks like new BTW) I bought another to cross over the original in a different shape just for additional shade. One was well into 4 5 years old and I could not tell a difference. It is important though to make sure it is Coolaroo fabric. As a side note; I have the same product for a dog cot that stays outside and that too is several years old with no ware. I live in Georgia where the summers are very hot. Well worth the price. May get one more but now I want a red one....lol Take care and enjoy!
By Mom from Michigan on March 21, 2016

By don from az on March 22, 2016

    Answer:

By Bruce from Tucson, AZ on March 22, 2016

Are there any cables running the perimeter of the sale for stability and wind resistance? Once put up, will they withstand decent wind gusts?
By Justin R. - eCanopy Product Specialist on March 21, 2016

    Answer:
There are no cables which span the length of this sail, though the edges are reinforced. This item can withstand wind gusts without tearing, but you will need to sufficiently anchor it, as well.

By Diane from Opelousas LA on March 29, 2016

By Kimmi from Colorado Springs, CO on June 6, 2016
I am interested in purchasing this product, but would need exact measurements. Can you give me measurements for all 3 sides of the triangle so I will know where the posts will need to be placed?
By Justin R. - eCanopy Product Specialist on June 6, 2016

    Answer:
This is an equilateral triangle, and all three sides measure 18'.

By Bonny from Dover, NH on June 19, 2016
Some of the sails are not equilateral triangles, that is they might be 15x12x9. Is this an equilateral triangle? If not, what are the dimensions of the other 2 sides?
By Brennan W. - eCanopy Product Specialist on June 20, 2016

    Answer:
Each side of this sail is 18'.
By Magali from CA on June 20, 2016

    Answer:
Yes this is it... 18' equilateral. The same I bought and... I simply love it. The best shade sail I bought so far. I attached them with black parachute cord, it's very strong and you don't see it.

    Shade for Orchids

I would recommend this item to a friend.
The workmanship of this shade sail is excellent. All the seams are even and well sewn, compared with a cheaper sail i purchased elsewhere and returned. This sail provides perfect shade from the Florida sun for orchids, ferns, etc. The temperature difference under the sail is remarkable. The hardware I received was top quality, too. The curved sides of the Coolhaven make the shade look very graceful as it floats in the breeze.
    Pros:
Well constructed Beautiful Heavy duty hardware
    Cons:
    None

Fits my needs perfectly. We had to have a huge oak tree removed, leaving our back stoop with no shade at all. This triangle fits the bill to perfection. It is our third sail (already 2 above our deck) and we love them all.
    Pros:
Heavy duty and boy do we need that in Texas with the heat and heavy rains!
    Cons:
    Nothing

This is my second Shade Sail. I purchased my first one several years ago and it still looks like new!! Great product. I do take them down in the winter, but if this second shade holds up as well as the first one, I will be really thrilled. It adds nice color to my deck and really helps repel the Southern Sun and cools down my deck. You will not be sorry. It is a inexpensive way to provide shade with a nice look.
    Pros:
    Awesome product!
    Cons:
Need more colors to choose from so I can buy more!

    Coolaroo Blue is beautiful!

We just put up the blue triangle shade. The 6 x 6 posts were erected and we put eye bolts in at various heights. We love the splash of color the bright blue adds to the back yard. We love that we can easily adjust the slope of the shade by unsnapping from one eye bolt and re-snapping into another. We love that we no longer have to worry about the stand alone umbrella being knocked over by strong New Mexico winds (and causing possible damage). we love that it is truly cooler under the shade. We love it so much, we ordered an additional shape to go accompany the existing!

Got the blue color. It really helps to cool the hot sunny days. Before installing, I read a lot & watched different videos about instructions on installation. I bought 4 different colors & sizes. I love them all on my back patio. Hopefully these will last a long time.
