Since the shade sails are reinforced with seams at the edges, you would need to sew and install grommets on the new pieces of fabric.

Best shade cloth yet
With summers getting so extremely hot we haven't been able to use our back porch, which is covered by a slatted roof. By covering the roof with a layer of this shade fabric, we've been able to lower the temperature on the porch and sides of the house dramatically, while allowing air flow. Shade cloth is a quick, simple and affordable way to create shade. Using Ecanopy's bungees to attach it, makes for quick removal and storage during the winter. We also wrap it around our chicken run and coop to protect the chickens from heat stroke as the summer temperatures have risen.

The fabric came fast and was in great condition. It was easy to work with and is very durable. I used it to enclose my patio where our hot tub is. Gives some privacy we didn't have before. Also used some of it on our fence/gate to the back yard. Really well made stuff.

Only con is I wasn't able to buy just 50 feet. Had to buy 100 feet so I have a bunch left over.
