The tent comfortably sleeps three people cooly, too, thanks to the vented side panels and roof which help to ventilate and freshen the tent's interior.

    Quick and Easy

Needed a new tent for an upcoming bicycle tour to replace my Eureka Tetragon 7 that had a broken visor pole. This company came up on a Google search for Eureka tents. Great price, easy to order and delivered in just a few days. The tent performed well and I like the fly design better on this tent than the other, no more visor poles, they broke easily!
    Pros:
Roomy enough for me and my two large bags. Probably could fit two people that travel lighter! External frame, no threading poles thru sleeves. Price
    Cons:
    None yet!

I bought this tent because of brand loyalty. I bought my first Eureka Tetragon tent decades ago. My son and grandson used that tent again for our 14 night wilderness expedition and it performed perfectly. For my other Eureka tent (might be Tetragon also) this year's expedition will be its last trip. The zipper gave out. (I suspect rough, inappropriate treatment by my grandkids.) Anyway I think both of those tents have lasted more than 20 years. I sealed the seams twice. They have been used in mountains and desserts, hiking and car camping and they are durable and easy to set up, take down and pack. In many ways, they are as good as, or better than, other tents costing three times as much. So, I am giving them to my grown-up children now that their children are at an age where they will use them too.
    Pros:
    Simple design, easy setup, affordable

    Dry in the Rain

This Eureka tent is the second one that we have owned. The first time we used it, we dealt with both rain and snow and the temperature was below freezing. Thankfully, we had set up the tent once before leaving home so we were able to erect it quickly while allowing only a little rain inside. Once up, the interior of the tent stayed completely dry throughout the rainstorm, as did boots placed outside under the rain fly. My two boys slept in the tent with the dog, but the floor held up well to his nails. The quality of the poles leaves something to be desired, but that is to be expected in a backpacking tent since sturdier poles increase the weight. We had a great weekend using this tent and plan to use it for many trips in the future.

    Durable and Spacious

My Boy Scout troop and I are very satisfied with the older versions of this tent. The only issues with this product are the tent bags, which aren’t very durable, and the fact that replacements aren’t available. Even though I prefer the older style, the troop bought 3 new versions of this tent 2 years ago. When compared to the older rods, which hold up better on windy days, the newer rods seem to be too brittle and break easily. Because of wind damage, the newer rods weren’t replaced by the company, but were nonetheless pretty cheap to replace. Overall, this tent is affordable, great for backpacking, and spaciously sleeps 2.

    Better than Average

This tent has been great for weekend camping trips and music festivals. It has held up much better than the tents of many of my friends. It takes two people about eight minutes to assemble the tent. There are just two poles to attach, and they are quite secure. The interior stayed completely dry despite windy and rainy conditions. I did use a footprint tarp though, so I don't know how it would do if placed directly on the ground. The tent has good air flow, and the rain fly blocks out the rain even when the windows are open. There is a lot of storage space in the tent with areas under the rain fly, a net at the ceiling, and several side pockets. Taking the tent down also goes quickly, and it packs easily into its storage bag. I am not very good about caring for my tents, but this one has lasted well.

    Waterproof and Inexpensive

I’m very happy with my tent, which I purchased online. Not only was this tent easy to setup, but also rather spacious. I’ve completed waterproofing as well as seam sealing techniques without any signs of problems, except for normal condensation. The only problem I’ve encountered with this product is the mini-pole , which is used to prop the canopies, has broken after only 10 uses. Although no initial research has been made, I guess they are inexpensive to replace. I look forward to using this great tent on my hike through the Long Trail.

    Problem With Three-Segment Pole

These tents come equipped with a three-segmented pole that causes problems. I have had to replace two of them. These brim rods snap at the ferrule because they stress too much when bending them. I very carefully assembled it according to the directions, but it still snapped. Customer Service was great the first time I called and sent a five-segment pole that works well. Unfortunately, they would only honor the warranty the second time if I sent the broken pole back to them. The cost of shipping was not worth it so I just found a repair kit and did it myself. Since there is a known problem with the three-segment pole, they should have a hassle-free replacement policy. I can only grant one star for this.

This is the first Eureka tent I have ever purchased. I had heard good things about this tent so I felt it would be a wise purchase. I did put a sealant on it prior to using it. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of setting it up and tearing it down. Even though it rained the first night I used it, I stayed completely dry, albeit there was slight condensation build up. I did go camping in some rough weather recently, and due to high winds, the tent blew over. However, there was no water in the tent from any leaks.

Used For Trip Across the USA

After using this tent for 45 days, I think it is an excellent value and would rate it with four-stars. No water got in through the walls or floor even in storms and hail thanks to the factory-sealed seams. However, there isn’t much room for storing gear under the rainfly. There may be room for a couple of pairs of boots close to the door, but not much else. And if you have four people using the tent that’s a lot of gear that wouldn’t be protected. When we were in the Badlands a powerful windstorm flattened the tent which snapped some of the graphite poles. We probably did not attach the rainfly as well as we should have, though. Inside, there is plenty of ventilation from the mesh walls on two sides and there are conveniences such as side pockets and a gear loft. Definitely a great value for the price!
