Smaller Than Expected, But Still Great

I bought this tent for myself to take on backpacking trip. My purchase was based mostly on its light weight - 4 pounds. It's a bit smaller than expected, although it did fit my gear and me. If you're over 6' tall, though, I would advise against this tent as it might be too cramped for you. I was surprised to find that the tent pegs, advertised as aluminum, were in fact steel. I would like to replace them with aluminum pegs, but that did not affect my overall impression of the tent, which was positive. I have yet to test it out in rain, but I have hopes that it will keep me dry.

Breaking Tent Poles

The weight and size of this tent are very nice, but I had some issues with the quality. Several of the tent poles broke during normal use. It also must be carefully staked out in order to stand up securely. These two issues became very frustrating.

Quick Set Up

I really like the construction of this tent. It is very simple to put up and tear down. It only takes a few minutes for the two of us to get the job done.

Sturdy Enough for Many Years of Use

This tent is quite light yet still very roomy. It seems to be very sturdy, and I think it will serve my family well for many years.

Steel Tent Stakes

I purchased this tent to use for backpacking trips because of its capacity and lightweight features. This two-man tent holds me and my gear comfortably, but it is not seven feet long as it is described. I am five feet ten inches and nearly touch the sides when stretched out, so a six-foot man may want something larger. The weight is reasonable at four pounds, but the tent stakes are not as advertised. The specifications describe them as aluminum, but they are actually steel and weigh 14 ounces each. The company reports that this is the composition of all their tent stakes, so I purchased aluminum ones at my own expense.

Cautiously Optimistic

Since it is winter, I have not yet had the opportunity to actually use the tent. It appears to be a good quality product and worth what I paid for it. It is fairly lightweight for a two-man tent. Overall, I am favorably impressed but won't know for sure until I can use it.
