I would like to know how well the Shelter Logic 10 x 20 Super Max Commercial Grade 8 Leg Canopy Shelter and the Shelter Logic 10 x 20 Max AP 8 Leg Canopy will stand up to strong thunder storms and the wind that goes with these storms. I will be using the canopy for at least 2 weeks and need it to hold up under these weather conditions that will more than likely pop up once or twice while it is in service. I would also like to know how the full enclosure will work under these conditions as well.
By Dawn H. on June 25, 2012
Answer:Per the manufacturer, this shelter is not recommended for severe weather conditions.

For the ShelterLogic 10 x 20 SuperMax, are their sidewalls available? Do the sidewalls have windows, or doors for people to enter?

Is there a similar product that has higher clearance on the sides such as 7'6"?
By Dawn H. - eCanopy Product Specialist on September 24, 2014
Answer:I'm afraid not. The only way to get a higher side clearance is to go with a much larger building of a different style. Also, please note that the side clearance on this item is actually only 6'-3".

When you say built to withstand all but the most rigorous weather, what does that mean? I live in the East Bay hills of the Bay Area. We get big gusts of wind. The back end of the canopy would be up against a garage which blocks some wind coming from the East. Also, I gather that the anchoring process is on flat bottom rods. No drilling necessary. How much is the total weight. I am very interested in protecting a new car from red drippings from a redwood tree that adjoins the driveway.
By Justin R. - eCanopy Product Specialist on March 14, 2016
The total weight of this item is 170 lbs. When referring to "rigorous weather conditions," this item will not withstand heavy wind gusts or snow/water loads. You may wish to try this snow load rated shelter
