    Two questions:
    1. Can I get a high quality clear cover instead of the gray cover?
    2. I have 69" clearance at the ground level on the terrace where I want to use this shelter - is there an easy way to slightly modify the 72" width of the shelter?
    By Dawn H. on February 10, 2012

Clear covers are not currently available for this unit and the width cannot be modified.

By Michael from Corona, California on February 18, 2012
I am interested in the 6x10 instant storage shed canopy. I was wondering two things: can I get one with zippers on the back panel and if not is the back panel removable.
    By Dawn H. on February 20, 2012

The back panel does not come with zippers but it is removable.

By stephen from Oregon on May 3, 2012
I am interested in the 6 x 10 storage canopy. I want to build a platform and bolt the legs to the platform. What would the outside measurements of the deck need to be?
    By Dawn H. on May 4, 2012

The Canopy measures 6 foot wide by 10 foot long. Since erecting the canopy to a platform is not a recommended installation option, we would not be able to advise you on this.

This item says two double zipper doors. Does that mean a front and back door?
    By Dawn H. on November 16, 2012

No, only the front door has a zipper. They are zippered in a manner to allow you to move them out of the way or to roll up only one portion.

How well does it stand up in snowy conditions? Are the flaps on the bottom attached to ground or do they flap in the wind? Is the cover available without the frame in case something tears it?
    By Dawn H. on January 9, 2013

It does not have a snow load rating and the manufacturer recommends you keep the unit free of snow. The flaps on the bottom are attached to the frame with webbing. There is a product manual at the bottom of the item page on the website that will give you a better idea of how this works. We do not carry a replacement cover but they are available directly from the manufacturer.

How does this product stand up in the winter? How does it stand up in the snow? What about wind?

By Dawn H. - eCanopy Product Specialist on June 27, 2014

This does not have a snow load rating or a wind rating. The manufacturer recommends keeping the snow from accumulating on top by keeping it removed with a broom with soft bristles. They also recommend removing the cover if you expect high winds.

The only snow and wind load rated shelters of this type we carry are the ShelterTube shelters by ShelterLogic. These are available in both gray and green in sizes of 12 x 25 x 11, 12 x 25 x 11 and 12 x 30 x 11. They can resist winds up to 80 mph and snow loads of 43 pounds per square foot when properly installed per the instructions.
By Richard from Abacoa, FL on June 27, 2014

I live in Florida so I can't help you with the snow questions, but it took 2 years for the sun to turn the cover to dust, but the tubing is still really solid. We screwed the frame to cinder blocks and it is bulletproof!
By Chris from Arvada, CO on June 27, 2014

Snow slides right off; Colorado had a big winter and we had no issues. Wind is not a problem.
By Chris from Virginia Beach, VA on June 27, 2014

It stands up really well to all the elements. The securing augers that come with it are more than ample. Occasionally, just check the ratchet straps for snugness. No complaints.
By Robin from West Palm Beach, FL on June 27, 2014

I can't tell you about snow as I live in South Florida, but we have had a few days of fifty mile an hour winds plus along with tropical rains, I have not had a problem with it getting loose or leaking.
By Adron from Fairfax, VA on June 27, 2014

I just put my shed in two months ago, so I don't know about snow. The shed is anchored to half inch plywood over 4x4 timbers on the ground. Recently huge winds took down branches and trees in our neighborhood. Shed had no damage, just minor water inside from wind blown rain.

What are the dimensions of the door opening?
By Emily - eCanopy Product Specialist on October 3, 2016

The ShelterLogic 6 x 10 Instant Storage Shed Canopy - 70403 has a 4 foot 6 inch wide by 5 foot inch height door opening.

How are the anchors attached to the frame of the shelter? Is there a front panel that allows the open end to be closed?
By Seth on May 18, 2016

They are bolted to the legs. Yes there is a front door that can be closed.

Can this ShelterLogic 6 x 10 instant storage shed Canopy be installed in my back yard on grass?
By Kelsey C. - eCanopy Product Specialist on October 13, 2015

This shed would need to be installed on a leveled surface. This item does come with anchors to stake it to the ground. Please always check with your local code when installing a structure.

By Marty from Greensboro, GA on March 19, 2016
Can you keep rats and chipmunks from getting inside this shed?
By April L. - eCanopy Product Specialist on March 21, 2016

Rodents can be difficult to control. Just like with any other structure it is important to seal any opening. Rats can crawl through or under any opening higher or wider than 1/2 inch. This will likely be difficult to prevent with any type of storage shed.
By Bob from New Jersey on March 21, 2016

I highly doubt that you can do that. I've tamped the sides down with patio blocks, but the front will permit them to enter. I would suggest putting repellent inside the tent or along the sides inside. Dried fox urine, sold at hardware stores, could be a temporary solution.
By Don from Port Townsend, Wa on March 21, 2016

Almost impossible to achieve unless you keep a pet cat permanently inside the shed.
By Ej from Texas on March 21, 2016

No, the lower section of the tarp is not secured to the ground so it can allow small animals to enter.

By Bob from Raleigh, NC on December 4, 2016
Can windows be installed on each side of this before I buy it?
By Darnarius on December 5, 2016

We do not offer any windows for this particular unit.

Both front and rear panels came apart at the top, as they were being installed, due to faulty production of them. The manufacturer, "Shelter Logic," did replace both ends and top under warranty, which were better, but I also added some reinforcements.
Not bad as a temporary shelter.
The instructions could be better, including explanations instead of just pictures! I also added a white, reflective sheet over the top, because it gets very hot inside in the sun!

I ordered this shelter as an emergency cover for sheep shearing. Sheep must stay dry to shear with electric clippers!
This shelter is a nice plain gray color, rather small logo advertising on it - so it's not a glaring eyesore when set-up. zipper seems sturdy.
It took much longer to figure out the directions than I thought it would- BUT everything was really there. It all fit together without any modifications from poor materials or lack of pieces. Just a LOT more pieces than I thought ...

I purchased this shed recently and it arrived within a few days. My son and I put this shed up in about 2 hours, the instructions are pretty vague and not really clear, but it was pretty easy to figure out. The quality of the shed is pretty good, except for the ratchet straps they are about the biggest pieces of crap I have ever used (very cheaply made). I would buy this shed again, but I would find my own ratchet straps.

After I separated all the hardware which took a few minutes I followed the instructions and everything lined up as I expected. All went well and everything was clearly marked. Actually I was rather shocked. Most things are difficult to put together when there are so many pieces. I was impressed

Directions are not the easiest to understand, but not horrible. All parts were accounted for though one pole was slightly damaged and had to be "adjusted" with a hammer. Instructions call for one person and 2 hours. 4 hours seems more accurate and 2 people are extremely helpful when installing the canopy and tightening it down. Seems to be of decent quality. Will have to see how it holds up in the northeast weather. Overall I'm happy with the shed.

Sturdy. Secures to concrete surface easily. Easy instructions. Only took few hours to put up. That included drilling holes in the driveway concrete to secure it. Stakes are provided for other method of securing.

I really like the storage shed for my motorcycle. I fastened it to the concrete driveway and it is very sturdy. We had a storm last week with 75+ mile an hour winds, and the shed doesn't have any damage. The building instructions were easy to follow. One step I would add would be to build the frame and fasten it down before installing the cover. With free shipping, the price was the best on the web.
