I am interested in the 6 x 10 storage canopy. I want to build a platform and bolt the legs to the platform. What would the outside measurements of the deck need to be?
By Dawn H. on May 4, 2012
Answer:The Canopy measures 6 foot wide by 10 foot long. Since erecting the canopy to a platform is not a recommended installation option, we would not be able to advise you on this.

How well does it stand up in snowy conditions? Are the flaps on the bottom attached to ground or do they flap in the wind? Is the cover available without the frame in case something tears it?
By Dawn H. on January 9, 2013
Answer:It does not have a snow load rating and the manufacturer recommends you keep the unit free of snow. The flaps on the bottom are attached to the frame with webbing. There is a product manual at the bottom of the item page on the website that will give you a better idea of how this works. We do not carry a replacement cover but they are available directly from the manufacturer.

How does this product stand up in the winter? How does it stand up in the snow? What about wind?
By Dawn H. - eCanopy Product Specialist on June 27, 2014
This does not have a snow load rating or a wind rating. The manufacturer recommends keeping the snow from accumulating on top by keeping it removed with a broom with soft bristles. They also recommend removing the cover if you expect high winds.
The only snow and wind load rated shelters of this type we carry are the ShelterTube shelters by ShelterLogic
. These are available in both gray and green in sizes of 12 x 25 x 11, 12 x 25 x 11 and 12 x 30 x 11. They can resist winds up to 80 mph and snow loads of 43 pounds per square foot when properly installed per the instructions.
By Richard from Abacoa, FL on June 27, 2014
Answer:I live in Florida so I can't help you with the snow questions, but it took 2 years for the sun to turn the cover to dust, but the tubing is still really solid. We screwed the frame to cinder blocks and it is bulletproof!
By Chris from Arvada, CO on June 27, 2014
Answer:Snow slides right off; Colorado had a big winter and we had no issues. Wind is not a problem.
By Chris from Virginia Beach, VA on June 27, 2014
Answer:It stands up really well to all the elements. The securing augers that come with it are more than ample. Occasionally, just check the ratchet straps for snugness. No complaints.
By Robin from West Palm Beach, FL on June 27, 2014
Answer:I can't tell you about snow as I live in South Florida, but we have had a few days of fifty mile an hour winds plus along with tropical rains, I have not had a problem with it getting loose or leaking.
By Adron from Fairfax, VA on June 27, 2014
Answer:I just put my shed in two months ago, so I don't know about snow. The shed is anchored to half inch plywood over 4x4 timbers on the ground. Recently huge winds took down branches and trees in our neighborhood. Shed had no damage, just minor water inside from wind blown rain.

Can you keep rats and chipmunks from getting inside this shed?
By April L. - eCanopy Product Specialist on March 21, 2016
Answer:Rodents can be difficult to control. Just like with any other structure it is important to seal any opening. Rats can crawl through or under any opening higher or wider than 1/2 inch. This will likely be difficult to prevent with any type of storage shed.
By Bob from New Jersey on March 21, 2016
Answer:I highly doubt that you can do that. I've tamped the sides down with patio blocks, but the front will permit them to enter. I would suggest putting repellent inside the tent or along the sides inside. Dried fox urine, sold at hardware stores, could be a temporary solution.
By Don from Port Townsend, Wa on March 21, 2016
Answer:Almost impossible to achieve unless you keep a pet cat permanently inside the shed.
By Ej from Texas on March 21, 2016
Answer:No, the lower section of the tarp is not secured to the ground so it can allow small animals to enter.
