Nice add on but plan, plan & plan

This is a nice add on to any home, dogs love it. Be prepared to plan for the big erect day. You need to familiarize yourself and mark each piece we had some screws missing, luckily no major pieces missing. Also We spent a long time deciding how to attach it to the house because the concrete slab had a slight grade to it. We had a general contractor with 4 man crew do the install and it took them 5 hours. Directions are confusing and again if you do a complete inventory and mark each piece it will help tremendously during the install. All in all we love it, but really recommend a contractor do the install. Take your time, plan ahead and read directions carefully and all will go great...

NOT a DIY project !

We ordered the second to the largest unit. Arrived on the wrong day. A 250 lb. card board box is the wrong way to ship something this big. Should have been done in at least two separate boxes. Two of the screens were bent on arrival. The instructions are not well done. Hired a professional contractor to do the job. Once the job was completed, we got a really good laugh out of the comment in the manual that says this job can be done in 6 hours. If you had absolutely no modification to make the unit fit, I would say that 1-2 people with skills could get this job done in 6-12 hours. First time, straight out of the box and never having put one of these together - 6 hours is not possible! We had to work around a gas meter and had to improvise an attachment to a second wall as the dimensions were not an exact fit for our space. The rubber pieces between panels have to slide down into position and if the panels have the slightest dent or irregularity, it's nearly impossible to get them in place all the way down to the ground. We estimate that all in all this job took over 20 hrs. to complete and that was with professional help. The end result is a pleasing screen room that is practical and functional. The "build" was not something I would want to do again. We did add a "doggie" door and we did mount two oscillating fans which really enhanced the functionality of the room. Now that it's up...we love it. For outdoor living in Tucson, Arizona, it's been a real plus.

Pros

It's exactly what we were hoping for. The price is right.

Cons

Terrible packaging. Lightweight screening panels are easily damaged when shipped as one giant 250 lb. box. Poor instructions. Had to cut two of the canvas top supports that dropped down over one of the doors. They came down so low that one could easily cut ones head on the metal supports.
