By Gene from Rockaway Beach, MO on June 17, 2013
Does the roof and leg framework lock together or is it just pressure fitted? I'm looking for a weatherproof and very wind resistant shelter for a vending booth.
    By Dawn H. on June 17, 2013

They are pressure fitted. There is an assembly manual on the item page that will give you the full details.

My canopy will be sitting in 110 degree plus summers and direct sunlight. My last two canopies lasted less than a year. Under these conditions, what type of lifespan might I expect from this particular canopy?
By Emily on November 19, 2013

The lifespan will be determined on the weather conditions it is exposed to on a daily basis. The manufacturer has not rated the canopy based on daily exposure to this amount of direct heat.

Are the windows plastic or screens?

By from on May 22, 2014
Does this also come without windows?

    By Dawn H. on May 22, 2014

Yes, we do have the same 10 x 20 Hercules Shelter without windows but it does not have the snow load kit included.

However, you can purchase the Truss and Anchor Kit separately which adds the snow load rating.

By Larry from Wichita, KS on May 31, 2014
How well does it hold up in minus zero tempetures? Does the material get brittle and crack? I live in kansas where it has got to minus 40 windchills.
    By Dawn H. on June 2, 2014

They only have a snow load rating. They do not have a rating for temperatures. It is possible that the windows may crack at those temperatures.

If not, which similar units have a floor?
By Dawn H. - eCanopy Product Specialist on July 14, 2014

No, there are no floors available for this unit or any similar unit. Many people have laid tarps down underneath the shelter.

What additional parts do I need to purchase to actually get this set up? The description doesn't mention bungee cables and doesn't mention any anchoring system.

The bungees used to attach the top and walls to this unit will be included with this package. To properly anchor this shelter, we recommend that you use the anchoring kit found here .

After reading many reviews, I chose this one and I'm really glad I did. I'm storing a car in mine and with the proper anchors this thing isn't moving. Just went thru 40 mph winds and didn't move. I did buy 14 18 inch anchors to anchor the platform solid to ground and it turned out great. Easy set up 2 hrs by myself. I would definitely recommend buying this canopy at a great price too.
    Easy set up
Wish it had more anchors that comes with it.

Used this for a party on my deck this weekend and it was a big hit! Plus added an extra room to my house and eliminated overcrowding.
Easy to assemble. Very sturdy and held up to wind. Can be put together by yourself but 2 people just to make it easier. Everybody wants one now after seeing it!
Directions for snow kit need to be redone so you do it before you ASSEMBLE the entire top and have to go back and unhook poles to insert cabling. But even with this little problem worth the money and it is made really well.

This seems like a nice unit, although the zippers are kind of cheap. I haven?t had it out in any rough weather yet, so I?m not sure how it would hold up in the rain.

Here are some things you should know before you order this. (1) It?s a nice canopy and you?ll like it once it?s up. (2) You have to stretch parts of it to get it to fit right. (3) The directions that they provide are pretty much useless, so you have to figure it out yourself as you go. (4) Have bags of sand on hand ahead of time to help secure it.

It?s held up well in winter weather, and I didn?t have any trouble putting it together. You should be aware, though, that it doesn?t come with anything to secure it to the ground. And you have to have that or it will blow away in the wind.

Wow, this tent is worth the price, even if you have to pay a little more for it. It is really big, and three of us assembled it in a couple of hours. Note that the supports are really sturdy, sturdier than the cheap little poles you get with a lot of tents. The fabric is tough. I?m using it as a place to park my car, and it keeps the sun off quite well. The only bad thing that happened ended up being a positive experience?neither zipper worked right. In fact, they both broke. So I got on the phone with the company and I got a replacement panel really quickly. The person I talked to on the phone was so nice! And the construction of the replacement piece seemed better than the original. So, like I say, even though it seemed like a bad thing, I?m very happy it happened. You know, the poles are so tough that you could actually use them to support a metal structure. Maybe I?ll convert it to that when the fabric wears out someday.

Some people talk about how these products work well in snow. Well, we didn?t have that kind of experience?we took it to the desert for a couple of weeks! It was very hot and windy, and storms came through pretty often. It held up great. It?s also easy to assemble and take apart.

King Canopy Hercules canopy shelter is actually a 4 3/4 but you don't have that option.

Only improvement I could suggest is to make the outside corner pieces slightly wider or at least provide a means to velcro them to the body of the cover. We will probably end up using two sided tape to keep them secured to the main sections of the shelter. Other than that, it's very well made.
Seems to be waterproof. Large, light and well made
Would like the clear windows to zip or velcro open so air could pass through

    Set-Up Was Frustrating

Receiving and assembling this product started out as a frustrating experience for me. First of all, not all the parts were included?specifically, the elastic ball straps. I had to pay to get more. Secondly, they didn?t send the right directions with the kit! The directions told how to assemble a completely different canopy. Not good. Third, you have to provide your own materials (straps, pegs, weights, etc.) to secure it to the ground, otherwise it just flies away in the wind. Maybe I should have realized that ahead of time, but I didn?t, and the thing turned upside-down in the wind. Nobody was hurt, but it did get a rip in the fabric. Fourth, I?m glad it came equipped with a snow load cable truss system, but because I had the wrong instructions, I didn?t know it and I didn?t know how to attach them. Arrrrgh! HOWEVER, now that I?ve learned all these lessons the hard way and it?s all set up, I am glad I bought it, and we enjoy using it.

OK, so the ad said that this canopy was approved for snowy conditions, and that was one of the big reasons I bought it. Then when we started putting it together we saw that it said it was not rated for snow. Um, that?s confusing at best and dishonest at worst. We realized as we worked on it that it did include a truss kit for use in snowy weather, but the instructions didn?t tell you what you were supposed to do with it or how to put it together. I?d advise you to check the weather forecast before you start to assemble any tent, because when we were putting this one together a rainstorm hit, and we had to abandon the project for a while. The thing got blown around and one pole was crooked afterwards. So, am I 100% happy with my purchase? No. Maybe 50%.

I?m using this canopy to store my car in, and it does a good enough job of that now that it?s up. Putting it up was a pain because the directions just weren?t all that helpful. After I got it all put together, I found out I?d done something wrong and had to take it apart and start over. Also, you should buy extra bungees?the manufacturer doesn?t provide as many as you?ll want/need.

Now that I have this King Canopy up and installed, I?m very happy with it, but I have to admit that getting it put up was an adventure?not because it was unnecessarily hard to assemble but because as I was putting it up for the first time a huge windstorm/rainstorm hit. Fortunately I had read the instructions ahead of time and even watched a video about how to put it up, and the instructions are very helpful. I kept having to hold the thing in place in the wind, though. It couldn?t decide for a little while whether it wanted to be a canopy or a kite! Anyway, after the weather improved I finished the job and am very happy with it. In fact, a few days later another storm came through and it ?weathered? it perfectly. Neighbors are complimenting me on how nice it looks. (I use it as a garage for my car.) Oh, by the way, I recommend you do what others have suggested and order extra bungee cords to help with the assembly. I ended up using almost 30 more than what came with the kit.
