Will this fabric catch and hold rain water or will it drain through the material?

Water will drain through this material, however in a heavy downpour there can be some pooling.

I was wondering if I could use this Coolaroo triangle shade with two ends bolted to my house and the other end somehow attached to something that could go in the ground?
By Dawn H. on August 6, 2012

Answer:
Yes, but the pole or other item you put into the ground will need to be anchored properly.

We want to use this shade over our open deck. If we affix a pole to our deck and then attach the other two corners to a wall of our house, is there a way to do that?

By Magan B. on April 1, 2013

Answer:
The shade comes with the following accessories: 3 stainless steel pad eyes, 2 stainless steel turnbuckles, and 1 stainless steel snap hook for hanging purposes. Should you wish to use a pole, you would need to find some way to secure the pole to your deck.
