Since you do not specify a model, lets use the Classic and Aluma as examples. The Classic and Aluma are the same product except the Classic has a steel frame whereas the Aluma has an Aluminum frame. Steel is a more durable metal. It will resist bends and nicks and dings much better than aluminum will. Since it is heavier, it is harder to blow over. On the other hand, aluminum is much easier to work with, being lighter. Also because it is lighter, it will put less stress on its own frame which can increase the canopy lifespan beyond that of steel if it is well taken care of.
