I live in New England and wanted to know if this unit hold snow loads that could be boomed off after a storm?
    By Dawn H. on September 9, 2013

    Answer:
These types of shelters do not have snow load ratings and the manufacturer suggests you keep the snow brushed off.

how does this compare with the cover it brand? will water get underneath? what is the warranty? what is the average life?
    By Collin C. on May 30, 2014

    Answer:
Cover-It is actually a subsidiary the is owned by Shelter Logic. Many of the products are identical to one another. Water can penetrate beneath the canopy, but it is recommend to level the intended setup spot to prevent this. The manufacturer offers a 1 year warranty against defects in the frame or cover. Replacement parts will be shipped in the event of a failure. Average cover life will vary by location, but 4 to 5 years seems to be the most common.

I live in South West Colorado and snow is a factor here. I understand there is no snow load rating for these shelters. Is a peak style or round style better for my application? What shelter would you recommend?
By Dawn H. - eCanopy Product Specialist on April 1, 2015

    Answer:
Round is usually considered the better option. However. we do carry snow load rated shelters of this type, They are the the ShelterTube shelters by ShelterLogic. These are available in both gray and green in sizes of 12 x 20 x 11, 12 x 25 x 11 and 12 x 30 x 11. They can resist winds up to 80 mph and snow/ground loads of 43 pounds per square foot (when used correctly).

I'm very satisfied with the value of this garage. I was able to build it by myself within eight hours. I used a six foot folding ladder. I read the directions before I began and that made the job much easier. I took my time and discovered that the bolts needed to face away from the outer covering, though the instructions did not say to do so. This is well engineered and quite sturdy. It held up well during a serious rain storm and I think it will hold up well in snow, too, if I keep the covering tight and clear the snow from the roof.

I found this to be practical and it provides good shelter. I can move it easily, as needed. I recommend getting help setting it up as there is a lot of hardware.

    Excellent

I really like this product, but did not give it five stars because the material does not last as long as I think it should. I bought this to replace another shelter. The cover lasted a littler over a year due to weathering. The material became brittle and was easily torn by the wind. Otherwise, this shelter is even better than previous versions. It is very sturdy and the large, one-piece cover is better looking. The ratchets keep the cover and door panels firmly in place, which makes the shelter more effective in keeping out bad weather. The instructions are easy to read and understand and the shelter is easy to set up. I would also make sure the bolts face inward so they don't tear the cover fabric.

This product is a good value and works well. It doesn't hold up well under snow, though.

    Not Good in Heavy Snow

I would recommend this item to a friend.
I purchased this product and it lasted only two years. The product isn't bad, but it won't hold up in heavy snow. We experienced some bad weather and were expecting a hurricane so I took the canopy down. When I put it back up the top seam tore. By our second snow of the season the canopy completely folded in and was destroyed. I decided to purchase another brand with thicker canvas and galvanized pols.
