Can the battery be changed in the remote and if so what type of battery?

27A 12 volt batteries will need to be replaced. If the battery does not work contact us to pursue a warranty claim.

I would recommend this item to a friend.
What a life saver!
One of our cats knocked our original remote into the recycling bin and off it went. This remote is an exact replacement. Arrived in just a few days. Super easy to program had our awning opening and closing in a matter of minutes!
