Are these Stakes used to hold the tent down or to secure the center polls?
These are intended to hold the tent down and would be secured by ropes to each perimeter pole.

How high is the metal out of the ground, once you put the spike hook all the way in the ground
According to the manufacturer, they will stick up 3-4 inches out of the ground once pounded down to the hook.
