Please, let me know what the typical life span is of these when they are kept 100% outside. Thank you.
Although, we cannot guarantee the life-span (it differs, depending on weather conditions), these usually last at least 2-3 years. Our PTM tarps are waterproof and rot-proof. Many customers use a heavy-duty poly tarp to cover boats, ATVs, and other motorized vehicles during the off-season. These tarps include grommets spaced approximately every 18 inches on all four sides for maximum efficiency and convenience.

Davidfrom FL asked:
We hang tarps from the the trees over our trailers in our hunting camp using bungee balls, carabiner clips, and rope to protect the tops from pine needles and to catch water for the cistern. The tarp is sloped down from the front to the rear and slightly from the sides to the center rear where the cistern is located. We have had trouble with the locally available tarps tearing prematurely at the grommets and are searching for a more durable tarp. It stays up for only 4 months, October through January; the temperature can get down to low 20s and up to 85 in October. What is your recommendation on the best tarp to purchase (size is 15 x 30 to 20 x 30)?
I assume this is waterproof, since I live in an area where there is a lot of snow. I plan to cover my boat, which I store in my yard. I do brush snow off, but I just want to make sure that there will be no leakage. Also, I will apply bungee cords rather tightly to increase tension, so I hope grommets are strong enough to withstand a reasonable amount of tension.
Do you carry a 40 foot x 40 foot size navy blue/dark blue tarp?
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have a 40 foot x 40 foot size navy blue/dark blue tarp.

I have a boat dock with A frame that uses fence post aluminum poles. I would like to replace the tarp with something that can be hooked to the aluminum poles with the small bungee tarp cords. What do you recommend?
If you wish to use bungees, we recommend a tarp with grommets. You will find this feature on most of the tarps we carry under the features section of each item if it is available.
If we at eCanopy.com haven't learned anything else from our many years in the tarp business, we've learned that heavy duty situations call for heavy duty tarps. It may sound simple, but just wait until you start a project only to figure out midway through that you don't have enough tarp for the job. You'd be surprised how quickly most people change their minds about heavy duty tarps when the bottom rips out of their lightweight tarp.Heavy duty tarps are perfect for covering things of odd sizes or dimensions or dragging things like leaves or yard clippings on mowing day. We have all types of tarps for sale - canvas tarps, sunproof tarps for UV protection, and tarps with reinforced grommets and corners. We even have heavy duty canvas drop cloths that are perfect for painting and perfect for using again and again.
Clearly there are plenty of applications where a lighter weight tarp is all you need (we carry those, too, by the way). For those situations where a little more muscle is required, though, a heavy duty tarp is the only viable solution. Whether you're covering equipment for quite a while, dragging limbs, or protecting hay bales, eCanopy.com's heavy duty tarp store is the place to find what you need for less.
