How high above the door jam should I hang the door canopy? Should the bottom of the canopy be flush with the top of the door jam?
Per the manual: Using a level held against the head rod, verify that the canopy assembly is level & centered over door or opening. Also, check that when the arms are pulled down (provide a slight amount of tension) have a suitable mounting location and does not interfere with door operation or any nearby objects. Adjust if necessary. Hopefully, this explains where it is to be placed! It is a matter of aesthetics and utility.

Does this have enough room for my 36" screen door to open fully?
It does, as this awning boasts projection from the building of 49 1/2", although the recommended installation is above the door or opening, high enough to be sure all parts of the canopy are clear of opening doors or tall persons passing thru the doorway.

What is the projection? Does this awning protect against rain?
The actual projection is approximately 25 inches. The awning is water resistant but not waterproof.
