Getting the right look and feel for your home's exterior is a critical part of how much enjoyment you get out of your outdoor areas and, in fact, out of your home itself. If you have outdoor areas that could use awning, covering, or just a little extra shade, you should seriously consider using this Coolaroo Shade Fabric instead of more traditional cloth materials. Besides looking great in any setting, Coolaroo Shade Fabrics provide a lot of benefits other fabrics don't. These unique fabrics give you up to 90% protection from harmful UV rays, but still remain breathable as better air circulation makes it up to 32% cooler in the shaded area beneath the fabric. It is extremely easy to clean, it's mold and mildew resistant, and, once again, it looks great. Coolaroo offers a 10-year warranty against UV degradation, as well. There are all sorts of uses for this kind of fabric. Anywhere you would use regular fabrics and building materials are excellent places to use Coolaroo fabrics. New construction, home additions, or just adding a little shade, Coolaroo Shade Fabrics give you the opportunity to enhance your outdoor experience by giving you more enjoyment of outdoor areas in your home.

Customer Q&A with Product Specialists

Dana R. from NC asked:
I have a need to use this at the gable ends of a carport. Can the fabric be cut, if so, with what works best? Could I then fold it on itself and punch a grommet through it for hanging?

This material is designed to be cut to your needs, though you may wish to hem any trimmed edges to provide additional protection. Fabric scissors work best. You should be able to hang it as well.

Per the manufacturer, you can indeed sew these together. They recommend UV thread if it is to be outside.

In order to attach this fabric, you can use various methods. The manufacturer recommends butterfly clips or timber fasteners. For a more in depth look you can search "shade fabric installation" on Youtube.com and get some extra assistance. We can only recommend what the manufacturer recommends, obviously. Unfortunately we do not carry thread to hem, I apologize.
