    Is the height measured from the bottom of the valance? Also, how long can we expect the fabric to hold it's color (red)?

    That is the total height from the ground to the top of the canopy. The manufacturer does not list an expected time for the fabric to hold its color as different conditions in different areas can have an affect on this.

    Can we get the Baltimore in either a 10" or 12" width? We have an 8' door but would like the awning to be about 2' on each side as well?

    The 8' projection and the 16' projection awnings have a width of 8'. That is the largest width they offer.

    How do I fasten the pole to the ground?

    According to the product manual, you will need to secure them to the ground with the appropriate anchors for the type of material you will be mounting it on. You can get these at your local hardware store.
