I am interested in a Adirondack winter shelter for a Precision 21 sailboat including trailer and motor so about 25 feet minimum. The winters are rated sub-arctic. The snow drifts can be about 8 feet and the temperature to -15 degrees Fahrenheit. Would the 90233 work under these conditions? What do you recommend?
    1 Answer
A round style shelter such as this is the best product that we offer for high snow accumulation and gusty winds. The round design allows the shelter to shed snow and for wind to flow over and around the unit. My only concern is the thickness of the cover. At 9 ounces, it should be sufficient for a couple of seasons, but will likely require replacement after that. The we can look into custom covers in heavier material, if you might be interested.

Do the sides roll up? I need to wash my boat down before storing it and having sides that roll up is a necessity.
    1 Answer
Unfortunately, this garage and all designed like it feature a solid fabric top. This cover can not be rolled up on the sides. Only the end panels can be raised.

I get high winds and heavy snow in my area. Will this hold up to severe weather? What are its specifications?
    1 Answer
Unfortunately, these are not rated for either snow or winds. While they are very durable shelters, they are still intended for temporary, portable sheltering. As such, they're not designed or recommended for extreme conditions.

    F350 Truck Canopy
Easy to install if you prepared your base correctly. Need two individuals to assemble.
Tip 1. Put down 2x8 treated boards the size of your unit and square off. Make sure the ground is level.
Tip 2. Lay out all the parts including the hardware. Identify all the parts. Makes assembly easier and saves time especially if you assembly the wrong parts!
Tip 3. Assemble the entire frame including the bottom supports. This will ensure the poles are evenly spaced and make squaring the unit easier.
Tip 4. Buy 2 inch carriage bots to replace the 1.5 inch carriage bolts for the bottom supports. The supplied 1.5 carriage bolts are to short.
Once the frame is assembled and squared off attached the the legs to the 2x8 treated boards with appropriate hardware purchased separately. #14 x 1.5" screws with washers. Anchor the front and middle of frame with supplied hardware.
Doors go on and then the main canopy. Depending on size may need 3 individuals.
Bottom support poles get slid into the bottom of the main canopy. You may have to make adjustments to the openings to attach the brackets. The canopy has slits cut into it to attach the bottom poles to the brackets but they may not all line up.
Tip 5. Buy the door roll up kit if you can't make your own system.
Easy to assemble if you have 2 or more individuals. Appears well made. My first northern winter will tell the tale. Price is right. Should include the door roll up kit. The 1.5 inch screws are to short for the bottom supports. Need 2 inch screws. Instructions need some refinement. Some of the bottom support brackets don't line up with the slits on the canopy .

    Solid Unit
Bought my temporary garage a little late in the year for Michigan. I was concerned about assembly in cold and snow. With a little planning figured out how to build the majority of the unit inside existing heated pole barn and take outside. Had no issues at all with construction, and cover had no issues with cold install.

Tarp added so much more support to structure. Two people easily assembled.

Looks just like the picture, except mine is now full of cars!!

Nice erector set! Overall strength of shelter Instructions vague. Need to think through what is needed.

    Portable Garage
Using proper anchoring and tie downs to the trailer the unit has withstood 70 MPH winds and winter snows. Just keep the top clear when weight accumulates. Cover has lasted 5 seasons with removal in hot summers. Does what it was designed for.
Accommodated a 28' cruiser on the trailer with not problems noting the tongue of the trailer sticks out the front. Nothing - works well.
