from Saginaw,MI. asked:
I have a manual Perma Systems retractable awning, model 276 207, and would like to install a motor on it. A photo of the end cap is attached.
Thank you for the photo. It shows the Perma System marking and model number 276 207 on the end cap of your awning. We did not find a Perma System awning or model 276 207 in our catalog, and our
Awntech Manual Override Motor with Remote Control does not list Perma System or 276 207 in its specifications. Because we cannot confirm fitment, we do not recommend ordering a motor for this awning. For a motor approved for your awning, please contact Perma System directly with the model number shown in your photo.

Additionally, our Awntech Destin, Hampton, and Maui motorized lines can be customized in various width and projection combinations, including color choices. If a 20 or 24 foot wide by 10 foot deep awning suits your 24 by 16 foot deck, please reply with your shipping zip code. We will then provide a complimentary quote with pricing guaranteed for 30 days.

Does the awning automatically retract in high winds if I'm not home?
Yes, if your retractable awning is equipped with motorization controls and weather sensors, it can automatically retract in high winds even when you are not home. These sensors are designed to detect wind, rain, and sun, and will adjust the awning accordingly to protect it from severe weather.

from Massachusetts asked:
What do you recommend for cleaning the awning and is there a cover guard that I can purchase for the awning during the winter?
You may use a mild soap and a damp cloth to clean your awning fabric. Gently brushing off the dirt with a clean broom is sufficient in most cases. Do not use abrasive materials, cleansers, chemicals, bleach, or solvents on the fabric canopy. Use a hose to rinse with clean water when finished. Extend to dry thoroughly.

When mounting a 14' Maui awning on a facia board:How much 'clearance' directly above the centerline of the standard wall brackets is needed to assure no interference with the rolled-up awning material?
The User Manual states that Wall Bracket Area should equal 9.5 in times the length of the awning, so the equation would read: 9.5 x Length of Awning = Wall Bracket Area.

The largest projection we offer on an awning with a 14" width is 10'2". Either the Awntech or the Sunsetter 14' awning offers this projection. Separately purchased roof brackets are available for either item.
