Our tent does not have a vent per se. Our experience has been that it is waterproof to the degree that everything stays dry during, say, typical rain showers.

The 10x10 traveler we purchased does not have a vent and though not 100% water proof we were dry beneath the canopy during a light to moderate rain. After owning many other brands of canopies, we have been impressed with the construction quality and durability of the caravan traveler canopy.

No, it does not have a vent. It rained the first time we set our canopy up and it shed the water well. Just remember that the top and sides must be dry before it is stored to keep it in good condition.

This canopy would be fine on the beach. You will just need to make sure you keep it weighed down as the provided stakes usually do not work well in the sand. We carry the perfect set of
weight bags for this application.

How do the Velcro side walls compare to the one with the straps? Does the Velcro hold up well? Am I understanding that I can get this canopy with a red top but the sidewalls are white? Does the top stay attached to the frame when it is folded up and put in the bag?
1 Answer
The Velcro does indeed tend to hold up very well as Caravan uses this style on all of the models that we carry. The Traveler is indeed available with the red top and white sidewalls. I would suggest removing the top while the frame is folded to ensure that no pressure points are created on the top causing premature wear and tear.

Which would you recommend: a steel or aluminum 10x10 Caravan Canopy?
1 Answer
If the extra weight is not a bother, the steel canopy is the way to go. Aluminum canopies are lighter and generally easier to move around and set up, but the frames are not as rigid and do not have the life expectancy of a steel frame.

How does this canopy attach to the frame? Is it possible for the cover to blow off the frame in the wind?

The canopy top attaches to the top for with Velcro-like strips. It is a very tight fit, and it would take a significant weather event for the top to come off the frame.

Does the canopy have to be removed from the frame for everything to fit in the bag?
1 Answer
While it is possible to store the canopy with the top on it, we recommend against doing so as this can cause wrinkles, creases, and even damage. The moving parts of the closing frame can pinch the top and cause a hole.

I am a fairly strong male of average height. Can I safely put this up myself if I had to? If so, how long might it take the first few times until I get used to it?
Could I fit it disassembled in a small SUV?
1 Answer
Yes, though we recommend two people to avoid putting stress on the frame. If assembling yourself you need to raise one leg height adjustment at a time to avoid putting stress on the frame. The folded dimensions of the canopy are 51" x 10" x 9.5" so it will depend on the size of your SUV.
